Welcome!

אירוח מדברי בבית חגלה על פני יריחו

Would you like to spend your holidays in the desert, at the place where the People of Israel crossed the Jordan River into the Land of Israel?

  • Enjoy the spectacular scenery, and watch how sun and shade play with the colours of the desert and of the mountain range to the east during the course of the day. And after dark, experience the cool desert night and the magic of the moonlit landscape (when the moon comes out).
  • Start your outing at the crack of dawn, with the desert air still cool, and the still-hidden sun radiating a red glow above the mountains to the east – followed by a magnificent sunrise, which slowly lights-up the dark desert.
  • Ascend to the Observation Platform, and see the Plains of Jericho unfolding before your eyes, and further to the east, the Plains and Mountains of Moab, with Mt Nebo as the highest peak. This is where Moses spoke his last, and (on a clear day) look for the cliff where Moses was buried just below and to the north of Mt Nebo – the whole Book of Deuteronomy before your eyes.
  • Come to the Visitor Centre and learn about the history and traditions, as well as the historical sites of Jericho.
  • Let your children enjoy the petting zoo and play in the open spaces of the Beit Hogla Farm.
  • Organise or partake in open-air events, such as weddings in our Events Garden, in the desert beyond Beit Hogla.
  • Visit the fields and orchards of Beit Hogla, and buy top-quality locally grown organic produce at the Beit Hogla Farm Shop.
  • Combine your stay with a session of professional holistic treatment by Erna Covos.
  • Meet some of Israel's pioneers who settled this desert against all odds, and hear their story.
  • Desert hospitality for individuals or groups, singles, families or married couples.
  • 25 beds in four rooms, with air conditioning, toilets and an equipped kitchen.
  • Ideal for family celebrations with food and a desert atmosphere – even a wedding.
  • Ideal as a base for hikes in the area, or for holistic treatment.
